Our Purpose

The Hazards and Disasters Student Association (HazDis) at Texas A&M University is an interdisciplinary organization of students from the Colleges of Architecture, Engineering, Medicine, Public Health, Public Service, and more, who seek to work in emergency management, hazard mitigation, or disaster recovery. We aim to foster an environment for members to develop knowledge, experience, practical skills, and professional networks that enable them to help strengthen our global community's strength and resilience before, during, and after disasters.

The Hazards and Disasters Student Association also maintains an affiliation with the Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center (HRRC) and works alongside them to create future professionals that can prepare for, respond to, and address hazards and disasters.
